SAC 2024

SAC 2024 Race Format: A single-day, multi-sport event involving 2 main disciplines of mountain biking and trail running. For this year, the mountain bike section will consist of one lap of a trail covering approximately 45 km followed by a trail run section of 13 km.

Categories:

The formats and categories are as outlined below (note: the categories and distances are subject to change):

(A) Full Duathlon Individual Elite Open (50 km MTB + 13 km Trail Run)

The Duathlon Open is the SAC’s signature race format. Participants in this Duathlon race will be expected to complete (and finish) all segments of the race. The 45 km MTB section will consist of one lap of the set mountain bike route followed by a 12km trail running section. The categories are:

1. Category A1: Men Open
2. Category A2: Women Open

(B) Full Duathlon Individual Age Group (50 km MTB + 13 km Trail Run)

Participants in the Individual Duathlon race will be expected to complete (and finish) all segments of the race. The 45 km MTB section will consist of one lap of the set bike route and be followed by a 12km trail running section. The categories are:

3. Category B1: Men (age 18 – 29)
4. Category B2: Women (age 18 – 29)
5. Category B3: Men (age 30 – 39)
6. Category B4: Women (age 30 – 39)
7. Category B5: Men (age 40 – 49)
8. Category B6: Women (age 40 – 49)
9. Category B7: Men (age 50 – 59)
10. Category B8: Women (age 50 – 59)
11. Category B9: Men (age 60 and above)
12. Category B10: Women (age 60 and above)

(C) Sprint Duathlon Individual (25km MTB + 13 km Trail Run)

Based on the interest shown, Sprint categories have been added to the Individual Duathlon race format. Participants in the Sprint Individual Duathlon race will be expected to complete a shorter MTB section followed by a 12km running trail section.

Note:-

1. Prize Money to be announced at Official Launching (Date TBC)
2. An 8% ticketing fee will be applied to all transactions.
3. An age minimum is applied to each category. All participants under the age of 18 must obtain written permission from a parent or guardian.

   • MTB Sprint Men / Women Open – min age 14
   • Xterra Trail 7KM Mix Open – min age 12
