Kuching’s coastal playground is even better connected now by the Pan Borneo highway. With Mount Pueh providing the backdrop, the race will take in the communities and trails near Sematan village. The SAC 7.0 will feature all these attractions as competitors cover the extensive trail and road network including:-- Camp Belia (start / finish)
- Selako & Malay communities
- Waterfalls and river crossings
- Beaches
- Fruit orchards and Forest
- MTB and Running Trails
The forest-covered slopes of Mount Pueh and the lowland farmland and village trails provide ample scope for an exciting adventure event. While the area is well known for the extensive coastline and beaches, the trails and waterfalls of Pueh are perhaps less well known. The SAC 2023 race offers the opportunity to further highlight the recreational opportunities in Sematan and Pueh and to develop and enhance the tourism potential in the area by:-
- Promoting the area for adventure and recreation activities
- Highlighting the hiking opportunities
- Establishing Cycling & Local Motorbike Tour routes
- Promoting Community Agro-Tourism, including rural kampung experiences.
